Ellerthwaite Square is a charming pedestrianised area right in the heart of Windermere village. You'll find it just off Main Road, a stone's throw from the Booths supermarket and Lakeland shop. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, with people strolling between the various shops and cafes. Parking can be tricky nearby, so arriving by train to Windermere station (a short walk away) is a good shout, or factor in time to find a space in one of the pay-and-display car parks a short walk away.
